More Than A Number blog

{June 16, 2009}   Awesome T-shirt giveaway!

Recently I was contacted by Andy from Andy Monsters about two of his new shirts:

and

Awesome t-shirts, right?

Well, what makes these t-shirts right out amazing is that 100% of the proceeds go to charity! The Smile t-shirt’s proceeds go to Smile Train and the Wishing You Well t-shirt’s proceeds go to The Water Project

Smile Train performs surgeries for children born with cleft palates and The Water Project provides clean drinking water in 3rd world countries.

If you would like to buy one of Andy Monster’s rocking shirts, use the code “monsters” to get 15% off!

Also, since Andy has such a big generous heart, he has offered to let one reader of this blog win a t-shirt!

How do you enter to win?
You can enter in 4 ways (leave a comment for each entry)
1. Go to Andy Monsters and tell me what shirt you like best

smile train The cleft surgery your donation provides is a true, modern-day medical miracle: it costs as little as $250 to give a desperate child not just a new smile, but a new life.

j chaborek says:

My favorite shirt from Andy Monsters is the Coloring Book Franky Monsters. They’re all very cute though!

j chaborek says:

From The Water Project I learned that nearly 1 billion people in the world do not have access to clean drinking water.

j chaborek says:

One thing I learned from The Smile Train is that they are unlike many charities as they only focus on one thing, which is solving a single problem: cleft lip and palate. I’ve known about cleft lip & palate for quite awhile & do know someone who has it, however, I never knew there was a charity that focused only on this.

Happy soon to be birthday, hope a hamster shaped cake comes your way!

hetal g says:

From the water project website
Bottles used to package water take over 1,000 years to bio-degrade and if incinerated, they produce toxic fumes. It is estimated that over 80% of all single-use water bottles used in the U.S. simply become “litter.

Carol G says:

I like the Wishing You Well shirt the best.

Carol G says:

From the Water Project: 100% of the proceeds will be donated to build wells to provide clean water in foreign countries.
This is important because of the very high mortality rate associated with dirty water.

Carol G says:

From the Smile Project: Regardless of culture or background, we all speak the universal language of smiling. Some children, however, are born with cleft palates that affect them physically and emotionally. It only takes a few hundred dollars and less than an hour to change a child’s life forever.

As a nurse who worked pediatrics, it makes me hurt to see kids in other countries who can’t get surgery for such a comparatively easy to fix congenital defect.
